Our research focus is the development of the visual system, using the Drosophila compound eye as a model system.  We aim to exploit the power of this genetic model to get to the molecular mechanisms that underlie the development of the nervous system.  We employ a broad range of techniques including genetics, molecular biology and several types of microscopy.
